500 days of sleepless nights, uncertainty, and fear.  500 days of bombings, destruction, and murder.  500 days of hunger, freezing, heat exhaustion, thirst, and pain.  500 days since the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

Over these 500 days the people of Ukraine have cycled through all the stages of life, fear, hope, and mourning.  They have been afraid, they have been starved, tortured, and raped.  Their homes have been destroyed, their roads demolished, their crops flooded.  Death has rained down upon them from the heavens.  Over time their fear has been replaced with resolute endurance as they continue to defend their homeland and their right to freedom.

Freedom is not free.  Many men and women, however, are willing to endanger their lives in order to defend their homeland and save the lives of their families and friends.  Many have been killed, others maimed or injured.  Civilians have not been spared.  Many innocent people going about their daily lives have been targeted by missile attacks, leaving them hurt, in pain, and suffering as they await medical attention.

Stepping up to alleviate some of the burden faced by these people has been the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, who in conjunction with the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has been instrumental in providing medical aid and supplies, as well as logistical vehicles equipped to travel into the war-torn areas to grant aid and save the lives of those on the front lines of the war, or in the regions where the Russians have wreaked devastation.

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Antony, Prime Hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and Diaspora, His Eminence Archbishop Daniel in close collaboration with His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphaniy of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine acquired and commissioned medical consultation and treatment mobile logistic vehicle which would be used by the Border Guards to grant quick aid to the injured, with the hopes of saving countless lives.

This is but one of dozens of ambulances and logistical medical vehicles that have been purchased through the generosity of the faithful, friends and clergy of the UOC of the USA.

Even from across the ocean, thousands of miles away, you too can save a life.

Please consider donating to the UOC of the USA Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Fund.
